Although I used to consider myself a primarily a writer (and still do), I’ve allowed a range of rogue interests and tiny defiances to drive me into adding other art forms into my portfolio, such as music and film.

I founded and ran a theatre company named Stage First Cincinnati from 1998-2004. Under it’s auspices, I produced over 23 classically based plays and musicals at the black box space in the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Some of the plays and translations of foreign scripts were of my own creation, though we added Shakespeare, Moliere, Ionesco and the Greeks into the mix. I have always been something of a classicist.

Since then, I have been fortunate enough to have had one of plays (Delirium’s Daughters) enjoy an eight-week run Off-Broadway, thanks to the producing team at Triumvirate Artists. An animated film, which I produced in 2011, won the Best Animated Feature award at the Louisville International Festival of Film (Revel’s Rivals).

And a few years ago, I started writing a series of poems called The Wild Sonnets, which I continue to pen to this day.

My university years were spent at Northwestern in Evanston, IL – and since then I have lived in London, Paris, Chicago and New York. I have somehow found myself settling in Cincinnati, OH – which is actually a wonderful city, and I’ve been glad to call it home for the past 30 years.

At 56, I am older than I have ever been – but because of all I have learned how to do, and all that I want still want to achieve, I feel younger than ever.
